Sunday: Spelunking / Caving Expedition or Hike
Depart NYC after work on Friday, August 1 - Dinner on the road...
3 to 5 hours Class 4 to 5+ White Water Rapids
11.00 am River Check-in:
This Class IV-V river is truly a challenging classic: Tumbling down through the Western Mountains, this trip is more like running a steep creek than running a river. Fast paced and action packed you have to be on your toes, and ready to paddle hard!
Lunch served at 11.30 am at the river - Off the river at about 4.30 pm
3 hr Spelunking / Caving Expedition - 10.00 am Cave Check-in:
This cavern is the only developed cave in the northeast United States that offers exploring.
It has three miles of passages having over 2.5 million cubic feet of air space. It has a total elevation drop of 464ft., the deepest in the Commonwealth. Most of the cave is left in a natural state and its large, deeper, passages necessitate this form.
Be prepared for steep slopes, slippery mud, streams and cave scrambling!
End the day with a Team Building Exercise & Challenge: Find your way out of the cave...
Enjoy this intermediate hike on Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands Trail:
The trail affords some great views of the twisting Youghigheny River, from high above Ohiopyle State Park, to the beautiful Conemaugh Valley.
